It was anything but a successful first half of the year 2018 for the Socceroos and coach Bert Van Marwijk with 7 games (3 defeats, 2 draws & 2 wins). The group during their 2018 World Cup tournament with France, Denmark and Peru wasn’t the easiest but still possible to reach the round of 16. In the end, scoring only 2 goals in 3 matches by penalty kick (2x Mile Jedinak), wasn’t enough at all. Bert Van Marwijk retired as Socceroos coach and Graham Arnold took over.
